Propose a Project
If you would like to propose a project to Sports for Peace, please read the guidelines below before submitting a completed proposal form.
Project Guidelines:
All Sports for Peace projects must adhere to the following guidelines.
These guidelines must be incorporated in to your project proposal to be considered.
- Sports must be the primary activity of the project
- Education, culture and other components are secondary
- The project must directly focus and serve one of the following areas:
- Economically underserved
- Refugees and new immigrants
- Areas near conflict or affected by conflict
- Traditional (indigenous)
- Inter-religious cooperation
- A 20 minute presentation on the Interreligious Peace Sports Festival (IPSF) is required during the project (i.e. IPSF video presentation and brief explanation)
- A total of 1 hour of education is required for each 8 hours of the project
- Approximately 1 hour each day of the project
- The education is required to discuss the issues faced by youth within one of the following categories, as related to the project focus:
- Economically underserved
- Refugees and new immigrants
- Areas near conflict or affected by conflict
- Traditional (indigenous)
- Inter-religious cooperation
- Sports for Peace highly recommends using educational principles from the Sports for Life curriculum.
- Any additional educational components must be reviewed and approved by the Sports for Peace office
Proposal Documents:
To receive funding from Sports for Peace, you must submit the following documents:
- Sports for Peace Proposal (Sports for Peace form)
- Program Daily Schedule (your format)
- Itemized Budget Proposal (your format)
- Project Budget Proposal Form (Sports for Peace form)
- Nonprofit Organization Questionnaire/Agreement for Use of Support Funds (Sports for Peace form)
- Copies of recipient organization’s official incorporation documents (your government’s format)
- Wire Request Form (Sports for Peace form)
Reporting Guidelines:
To receive funding from Sports for Peace, you must agree to adhere to the following reporting guidelines:
- One week before
- Project preparation status report (your format)
- One week after
- Project Overview (Sports for Peace form)
- Project Report (Sports for Peace form)
- Program Schedule (your format)
- Photographs/Media (according to media guidelines)
- Evaluation Form (Sports for Peace form)
- Itemized Financial Report (your format)
- Grant Receipt Acknowledgement Letter on recipient organization letterhead (your organization’s stationary)
- Copy of bank’s wire receipt record with currency exchange information
- Copy of largest bill for the project paid for by UPF grant funds
- Three months after
- Follow up report (Sports for Peace form)
